Our Role: Economics, Health, School, Food, Trauma: One Week in Person

Full week this summer in beautiful Mancos, Colorado. In person - Meals and Lodging Included

Spend a week with an intimate cohort in beautiful Southwest Colorado fully immersed in an experiential, reflective, and collective experience. Pause to get out of the silos and pace of your everyday life. Let your brain and body relax into the connections needed to consider how you might contribute - in ways large and small - to the creation of a future for our great great grandchildren. A future you can be proud of.

Throughout the week we will draw from modules related to economics, health, learning, food / farming, and trauma. We will do things like visit farms, learn the latest in trauma research, consider implications of budgeting processes and GDP, dissect our education system, discuss innovations happening around the world alongside centuries of Indigenous wisdom, hear very personal stories, and break bread with locals. We will get deep and serious and also laugh and have fun.. and probably play in the dirt a bit (so bring your boots!).

And then… we will consider what each of us might do differently going forward so we leave a legacy we can be proud of. How will our policy people reach out across industries? How will our finance people look further out and across lines and boxes? How will our communities look beyond short-term economic measures of success? How will we raise our children differently? How will we consider more deeply the values of agency, belonging and reciprocity?

Our cohort will grow the movement and stay connected to each other and other participants after the week through ReThink / ReConnect's growing global network. We will support each other's commitments, share stories of success and ongoing challenges, and build on our initial relationships.

Who should attend? You may be an expert or leader in one of these fields or someone who experiences them on a daily basis. The only thing that really matters is that you see that the systems are perfectly designed to benefit some and leave some behind.. or be good for the planet in some ways and harmful in others... and that you think we can do better... and that you are eager to find and contribute to new ways forward.. small and large. You are ready to ReThink and ReConnect.

Mancos, Colorado: "Where the West Still Lives" and "Gateway to Mesa Verde" is home to the perfect small town vibe, traffic jams caused by cattle drives, kids getting muddy, and a hidden locals-favorite swimming hole. It also has the world's best bakery, award winning cider, music and dancing at the local brewery, art to enjoy / purchase / create, and access to layers of story and history, incredible skiing, mountain biking, pack rafting, hiking, hot springs and more. Let us know if you want to extend your trip to enjoy the area!

Lodging: Beautiful, warm and comfortable Scrappy Duck Farm serves as basecamp for the experience. https://scrappyduckfarm.lodgify.com/

Food: All meals are included.

Travel: The closest airport is in Durango (DGO) a 50 minute drive from Mancos. Durango is also a fun town with lots to offer.

$2,900 / person Sliding scale pricing available. Contact katiehmcclure@gmail.com for details

Our Role: Economics, Health, School, Food, Trauma: 6 Session Virtual Series

Wednesdays, March 16-April 20th, 11am-12:30pm PST Virtual via zoom

Take a mid-day break to ReConnect and ReThink. Share a long weekly lunch with about half a dozen people over six weeks.

The economy, health, education, food, and trauma are inextricably connected; so why does society always separate them into silos? ReThink & ReConnect was created from the insight that the major problems we face today are hardwired in systems and silos. Efforts to ‘reform’ aren’t reaching the root. We need to create interdisciplinary, intergenerational, inter-experience(!) conversations and plans of action.

In this virtual series, cohorts will look way back at the history of humankind, learn from centuries of knowledge and experience and wisdom, observe natural systems, consider the most recent neurological science, and ponder real-life examples where things are done differently. We will read, observe, experience, and reflect. We will connect the dots.

Flexible pricing to support equitable and valuable participation: $6-$500
